How is it already the end of October! And how is it time for October favourites? This month has been crazy, I’ve sent off my UCAS application and I’m now waiting for offers! To see how I got on with that situation, click here!
As well as all the events that have happened, I’ve also discovered some favourites. I want to share these with you to hopefully encourage you to buy a product that you’ve been wanting to!
Skincare favourites
The first product is the Mario Badescu drying lotion. Now this was actually a tough decision for me because I’d tried so many spot products that simply hadn’t worked but I bought it anyway. It’s the best choice I’ve ever made! I apply it every night on my most inflamed and problematic spots and by the morning it doesn’t go but it is definitely less obvious. It has quickly become my holy grail this month! If you have moderate acne then this is something I’d definitely recommend. Nothing used to work for me but this is the miracle product that has! It’s no wonder that it’s one of my favourites of this month! It’s also pink, which may have been a persuading factor…
Makeup favourites
As well as skincare, I’ve also found some makeup favourites throughout October! The first is a foundation and it’s the makeup revolution Conceal and Define foundation. This provides amazing coverage for only £9.99! I also love the applicator as it has a large concealer-like wand which I think makes it easier to apply though it may soak up more product due to the sponge. This however, isn’t much of an issue to me and I like the product so much that it wouldn’t matter as much even if I did care. You can also wear this naturally or full glam and it looks stunning either way. I usually opt for a more natural look everyday but I like that it’s versatile and can be an option for when a glam look is needed. Definitely one of the best drugstore foundations out there! Revolution has amazing dupes for many high-end products, it’s most famous probably being their chocolate bar palette. No doubt that it’s a clear dupe of the Too Faced version. Not only do the palettes look the same, but Revolution is regularly praised for their high quality. While this product is a favourite of the month, Revolution is probably my favourite drugstore brand of all!
Estee Lauder’s Pure colour envy glosses are also one of my October favourites this month as these highly-pigmented glosses are a perfect finish to any makeup look and the shade I have is beautifully autumnal. I will admit that the price tag is quite high but the pay off is definitely worth it, especially since the lasting power is also great. I’m not usually a lip product fan if I’m being honest, I’d rather be loyal to my trusty Vaseline. This means that when I mention a lip product, it must have really impressed me as I’m not easily swayed. Lipsticks don’t appeal to me as such though I do want to try the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk lipstick as I’ve heard nothing but good things about this “perfect” nude colour.
This month I have also fallen in love with my Morphe 24G Grand Glam palette. This is full of pink, brown and champagne shades which could easily provide many makeup looks. For an everyday look, I like to simply blend a dusty pink shade into my crease and it instantly makes me look so much more put together. Some shades are also versatile which you can use as highlight, blush or contour! I love the champagne shadows for both highlight and a shimmer shadow and they compliment all the other colours in the palette. Morphe is so affordable and the quality is mind-blowing. The only slight fault with this product is fallout but this doesn’t bother me in the slightest. This palette is perfect for autumn and winter but has plenty of shades that are wearable all year round!
The final makeup favourite product is the Anastasia Beverley Hills cream contour kit. This is extremely versatile and can be worn for a heavy contour or a natural one. The six shades also help with intensity. I bought this last year in October when I was in America as it was half price. I wasn’t experienced with cream contour so barely used it but now I’ve practiced and it’s a staple in my makeup collection! You can use this for a multitude of reasons. I like to use the lightest contour for an eyebrow pomade as it’s creamy and fills in sparse areas perfectly. The contour shades can also be worn to add faux freckles which are all the rage at the moment!
Random favourites
Now, last but not least is my final October favourite and it is the Bath and Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin body spray. This is a sickly sweet Autumnal scent which I absolutely love! I literally saturate my clothes with it every morning and I’ve barely run out! I always get lots of compliments when I wear it and I love getting small wafts of it through the day as a little pick-me-up. I’d definitely recommend it for the price! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to repurchase soon as I got it on holiday in America so I’ll stick to using it during Autumnal months only! This was a limited edition scent for the Autumnal season, however, Bath and Body work have a variety of amazing products and scents all year round!
I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading my favourites of this October! There’s so many autumnal products that just scream to be shared!
