The face products to apply to your face in the morning.

Despite only sleeping, your skin still needs to be cared for in the morning. You don’t know how much you sweat at night or how much oil your skin produces, in short, you don’t know what’s happening to your skin! Luckily your morning skincare routine doesn’t have to be as vigorous as your night skincare routine. I only use 3 products, occasionally 4, in my morning skincare routine and it’s really helped clear my skin. So, if you’re looking for a simple and minimalistic skincare routine (especially for oily skin), then you’re in the right place. I’m spilling the details on the miracle products that make up my skincare routine every single morning!
Cleanser
Obviously you need a cleanser in your skincare routine. Whether it’s morning or night, you need to cleanse. It’s the base of all skincare routines as it’s the product that cleans your skin. My favourite cleansers are from Lush as they’re all natural. I know natural doesn’t always need better, but Lush cleansers help tackle my skin’s issues and in turn, has improved the condition of my skin immensely. For my morning routine, I use Let the Good Times Roll but for my night skincare routine, I opt to use Dark Angels.
I chose Let the Good Times Roll for my morning skincare routine as it’s more gentle on the skin. Not to mention that it smells gorgeous! I’d describe it as almost a caramel scent? Nonetheless, it’s a perfect little pick-me-up to start the day on. For me, it’s also has a happy memory attached to it. I first used this cleanser when I went to DisneyWorld in 2017. Every time I smell this product, I’m briefly transported back to that hotel room. Also can we draw the attention back to the fact that I’ve been using this product since 2017! If mt loyalty doesn’t prove it’s worthiness then I don’t know what will!
It seems that many people have also agreed with me on the scent because recently Lush brought out a Let the Good Times Roll body spray! I also love Lush body sprays as they have a really strong scent and can be perfectly doubled as room sprays. However, focusing again on the actual cleanser, it gently scrubs at your face to leave you with a glowing complexion first thing in the morning- sounds too good to be true, right? I’ll let you try it out, the results speak for themselves.
Serum
Now, this may be the most important product of this post. Revolution salicylic acid* is a miracle worker! I used to use the Ordinary’s version of salicylic acid but this one is exactly the same and more readily available as it’s sold in-store too. I like to incorporate salicylic acid into my morning skincare routine as it absorbs into the skin quickly then works throughout the day to reduce the appearance and production of breakouts. I use this everyday and it was the only product that’s allowed me to be confident enough to walk bare-faced down the streets. The Kyra of 2 years ago would never have dreamed of doing such a horrific thing but my skin now, is so much better that I prefer to not wear makeup if I can help it. Sometimes I do it for fun, if I’m bored but on the whole, I generally don’t wear it.
As for how much I apply, the bottle has a dropper in the lid so I apply one drop to every section of my face and usually, I’ll use my PMD Clean* setting to rub it in for me. This setting allows it to absorb deeper into my skin so I get even more benefits from it.
Moisturiser
This is another product that’s remained a staple in my morning skincare routine- Superdrug’s vitamin E day cream.*
I absolutely love this product. It smells of coconut and has SPF and doesn’t make me oily! It’s a dream come true. Let’s also talk about the fact that it costs under £5! You don’t find those prices anywhere else! My tubs always last me ages too! One tub I’d say lasts me approximately 5 months! A little goes a long way with this product and it’s budget friendly appeal as well as it’s benefits to the skin is what’s kept it in my morning skincare for the past several years now. It’s great under makeup as I have been using it since those self-conscious dark days and my makeup wore well over it. I did get some oils breaking through but that’s expected as I haven’t found a single moisturiser that has kept me completely matte. Until I do find that borderline impossible product, this one stands its ground fairly well so I shall continue to keep it in its rightful place.
Face mask
So just a quick disclaimer here- I do not use the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask* everyday! This is used in the times when my skin could use a little TLC. It’s a miracle in a bottle. My skin has been transformed many a time when it’s been needed. The rose scent is also gorgeous. In fact, I have a whole review on the goddess skin face mask because it’s had that much of an impact on my skin. It’s as true to its word as the bottle says. It leaves you with incredibly soft baby-skin. What’s even better yet is that it’s suitable for all skin types. It’s good for oily skin as the clay absorbs the oils, but it’s good for dry kin as the clay used is non-drying and instead is nourishing! Charlotte really catered for everyone here meaning we can all have that goddess skin. The price tag is a little steep but I think that the magic it performs is well worth the price tag. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
And that, my lovelies, concludes my very simple morning skincare routine. What does your skincare routine look like in the mornings? More adventurous than mine?
Ugh, I struggle so much with skincare routine… I always forget!
Ah I’m completely opposite! I keep up with mine religiously!
I love seeing what other products people use in their skincaer routines, love that you’ve got some revolution skincare in there!
Those Revolution serums are the best! Xx
I love the Superdrug Vitmain E cream! I’m in the market for some new moisturiser at the moment so I’ll definitely pick this one up. I hadn’t ever thought to do a face mask in the morning you know… I guess now would be the perfect time for it! xxx
Definitely! It’s good for uni when I’d rather not be waking up for morning lectures! Xx
I’ve been using Ordinary products as part of my skin care routine and I feel like it’s been working well, but I wanted to switch things up. I’ve been keen to try lush products so might give that a go. I stand by the Vitamin E cream, I feel like it’s been hydrating and protecting my skin well. x
The ordinary products are great and I love their serums and treatments but for cleansers, my heart belongs to lush! Xx
I love a good skincare routine! Thanks for the recommendations. I haven’t heard of some of these products. Have a great week!
Thanks for reading and I hope they help! Xx
