There’s nothing quite like reading a physical paper book and I hadn’t been doing any reading recently which I hated so earlier in the week I decided to purchase 3 books, Everyday being one of them. I had seen the film and loved it and generally the books are better than the film so I decided to put this to the test and began reading it immediately that night!
I won’t spoil the story but the simple plot is that it’s about someone who wakes up in a different body everyday and after meeting a girl while they were in her boyfriend’s body, they fell in love with her so he tries to meet up with her everyday in the new body and but of course, there’s difficulties and problems that arise that don’t make their life easy.
I was hooked on this book and it wasn’t what I was expecting since I decided to read this book as I thought it’d be the one I’d enjoy less but I ended up loving it so much that I’m planning on buying the other two books in the series to find out what happens next!
The thing that got me most about this book was the ending, it was such a cliffhanger that could lead to so many possibilities and I’m so intrigued to find out which direction the author decided to take it.
I don’t think the book had many major plot twists or surprises but it had a plot that just grasped you and made you want to keep on reading. It was also fascinating to see how life was viewed from different people’s eyes and how each person in the book was portrayed differently and many important issues were covered such as mental illness and sexuality without romanticising them or making them seem unimportant.
It was so refreshing to have read again after such a long break from it and like every book, I managed to picture it out in my head as I read along, and, despite already seeing the movie, I saw the characters in my own way and not as the actors in the film. I’ve always managed to do this and it’s why I enjoy reading so much because it’s like my own personal movie in my mind and a good plot really helps this!
If you’re in need of a good book recommendation then I’d wholeheartedly urge you to read this, you will not regret it!
