At the moment, I’m really enjoying pinks for my eyeshadow looks and I’m really enjoying a blinding highlight to go with it. I wasn’t too sure at first as it’s a lot bolder than what I tend to go for but I found the look so easy to create and it was a lot more wearable than I first thought. I’ll try and link as many products as I can in this post so if you’re interested then you can purchase it. None of these products are sponsored, I’m simply doing it to help you readers and I will receive no money or endorsements from these links.
So, to start, I use my usual, Superdrug Vitamin E day moisturiser, this is my go to since it also contains SPF in it which is a vital part of skincare and to prime, I use a holy grail for many, Benefit porefessional. This is a favourite for many due to its pore-erasing abilities and smoothing effect.
Next, before any base makeup, I move onto my eyes. The Huda New Nudes palette is one I’ve been reaching for recently, and for this, I buff a pale pink shade in my crease, gradually building it up with darker shades, the darkest shade going on the outer crease. Then I use one of the ‘pearl’ shades to create a shimmery base on my lid, that I feel has best application actually using my finger, and then, I apply a glitter shade over that, also using my finger as I feel it picks it up from the pan and transfers it onto my eye better than most of the brushes I own, since these tend to barely pick up any glitter from the pan, which isn’t really what we’re aiming for with this look. The reason I apply this before foundation is simply because of the fallout from the glitter, it’s easier to remove before foundation rather than after.
Now, for foundation, I use Revolution Conceal and Define foundation. This is so cheap and such high coverage that it’d almost be silly not to purchase it! The ‘concealer like’ applicator is such a cool concept and this foundation blends seamlessly and on me, doesn’t look cakey at all! It’s quickly become one of my holy grails and I’ve barely used any other foundations since I discovered it. The link for this one is the shade I used but when on the page, you can change the shade you choose.
For concealer, I use the matching one to the foundation. Revolution define and conceal concealer received so much hype when it was launched due to its similarities to Tarte shape tape but since I don’t own nor have ever owned the latter, I can’t state my opinions on that matter. As for the revolution concealer however, it’s amazing! I have such dark circles under my eyes and I’ve found this to be the only concealer that has ever covered them! The coverage is insane and the concealer itself is so so cheap!
Before powder, I like to apply a liquid highlight as I feel this really emphasises the powder highlight when it gets round to it. My favourite liquid highlighter right now is the Sleek barekissed illuminator in Monaco. I prefer to blend this is with a damp beauty blender and it’s quite subtle but doesn’t get mattified when powder is applied which is a benefit since it’s whole purpose is to highlight. This shade is also a perfect match for my skin tone and doesn’t leave a dark or light cast on my skin.
Now for powder, I use the Rimmel clear completion powder as it’s really good quality for price and doesn’t leave my skin looking powdery which is what I like to go for since I personally hate the look of heavy, powdered foundation.
The next step is quite unusual I’d say and when I saw Hailey Sani use it on YouTube I was skeptical but she used her bronze shade in her Sundipped Glowkit as a contour shade. However, I decided to try it and it actually worked really well and made me look really sunkissed and healthy which I absolutely love so I’m definitely going to be doing this more often! This palette is also what I use as my highlight after my favourite blush which is Revolution blushing hearts in Candy queen of hearts. This is a gorgeous glowy pink shade that adds the perfect flush of colour to my cheeks and it matches perfectly with the champagne highlight in the glow kit.
I then quickly fill my brows in with a really old powder and I can’t actually remember what it is so I can’t link it but I’m pretty sure it’s just an old brown eyeshadow which is great for me since I have thick brows and only ever need to fill in sparse areas.
Then, I curl my eyelashes with my eyelash curler from Primark before applying Benefit They’re Real mascara to complete the look, this is my favourite mascara right now, it lengthens and separates lashes making them look so natural but so good!
