Drugstore skincare routine…

Skincare is an essential part of my day. I complete a skincare routine both morning and evening. In this post, I’m outlining my night skincare routine as obviously, it’s a little more extensive than the morning. At the moment, my skin is the clearest it’s ever been and I’m so happy! It’s increased my confidence so much so I’ve decided to share my secrets in this post!
In all honesty, I haven’t been wearing makeup too much as my skin is so good. When I do wear makeup however, I use the Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean makeup remover. I wrote a post a while ago comparing this makeup remover to micellar water. So many people swear by micellar water but I feel that it doesn’t do the job quite as well as this makeup remover does. In the long run, it actually works out cheaper but I went into more detail on the blog post linked above.
Dark Angels is a little more coarse so it’s slightly tougher on the skin. I like this as it really ensures that I remove the dirt and oils of the day. To ensure my skin is fully clean, I also use my Foreo Luna mini 2. I’ve written a whole review on the Luna mini 2. At first I wasn’t too keen but now, I love it! My skin has been in such a better condition since using this, I couldn’t recommend it enough. Upon using this, my skin is always so soft.
This toner is such a classic for many. Of course, it’s the Pixi Glow Tonic. I stopped using toner for a while but I reintroduced it at the start of the year and my skin really thanked me. It makes my skin glow and ensures every last bit of dirt is cleared from my face.
This toner contains glycolic acid which is an exfoliating acid. The method of exfoliating with an acid is much better for your skin than a physical cleanser as there’s no gritty particles that can scratch your skin. You should exfoliate your skin only once or twice a week yet this toner is gentle enough for everyday use.
Once a week, I’ll use the Revolution Quinoa Night Peel, this makes my skin glow. It’s a very thin texture but it’s quite a strong serum. Generally, I’ll use this once a week after I’ve shaved my face, this is another great method of exfoliation as it gently scrapes the dead skin away.
A serum I use every night, is the Revolution Niacinamide and Zinc Solution. This is my ultimate holy grail product. My skin is so much clearer after using this and it’s also helped my scarring and fading dark marks. It’s recommended to use this both morning and night. Personally however, I use this at night and the Revolution Salicylic acid Solution in the morning. This has given me optimum results.
This is the cheapest product of my skincare routine! It’s so affordable yet it gets the job done. As you know, since I’ve mentioned plenty of times before, my skin is extremely oily. Due to this, I need a moisturiser that’ll last through the night but won’t be too heavy on the skin.
My perfect find, is the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. This doesn’t make my skin overly oily but it ensures that my skin is hydrated. It does have a light scent to it, yet I quite like this scent, it smells slightly clinical. Not only is the price tag light but it’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic so it doesn’t clog pores and is suitable for sensitive skin. What more could you want?
Again, this is another product that I usually only use once a week. My go-to mask is Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty. This is amazing for acne prone skin!
Upon application, it has a cooling effect on the skin. I have the self-preserving face mask so it doesn’t dry which I like. You can however, also get one that does dry down as I understand that it can get messy and annoying.
It also has soft little bits in it that gently exfoliates as you wash it away. I apply a generous layer each time and leave it on for around an hour or so. If it did dry down, then I’d leave it on for the recommended time but since it doesn’t, I like to leave it on longer.
