This was a sensation on YouTube a while back and I loved watching these videos so I thought that it’d be a good idea to make a blog post out of it to hopefully convince you all to purchase these products! I have oily skin so these makeup items are best for oily skin though I have heard that many work on other skin types too!
So, what are the best makeup products for oily skin?
I’ve mentioned this plenty of times on my blog and it is of course the Becca backlight priming filter. It blurs out a fair few of my imperfections and adds a soft glow that I adore. I apply this all over my face and it provides the perfect base ready for foundation, which leads us onto the next product!
Only one product can really spring to mind here and it’s the product that took the beauty industry by storm. Of course, Revolution conceal and define foundation. It’s no surprise that this became the favourite of so many, such great coverage at such a low expense! I personally love the applicator and when a thin layer is applied with a damp beauty blender, it can look so natural; when applied with a brush, you get the full coverage, but non-cakey, glam look. You get such a lot of product too and the longevity of this is much better than many high-end foundations! It’s one of the best foundations I’ve found that works with my oily skin!
Hate the foundation but love the partnering concealer- can you guess? Estée Lauder Double wear concealer. This is the only concealer I’ve found that covers my dark circles and doesn’t crease! It’s also perfect to wear alone if I’m not feeling foundation. It is quite pricey but I’d say it’s definitely worth the price. I have found that’s it’a creamy and quite thick but blends seamlessly and feels weightless under my eyes which should be essential as the skin there is so sensitive and doesn’t need the extra weight pulling it down to create bags.
I tend to go for loose powders to set my makeup as I feel it looks more natural and keeps me most matte which I rank pretty high for importance due to my oily skin. As for the one I reach for most, it has to be Rimmel true match loose powder, it doesn’t go cakey and such a little amount of product goes a long way and it makes my skin feel silky smooth which is why it’s such a favourite of mine! Also, thanks to its drugstore brand, it’s inexpensive which is always a plus!
It’s never going to be anything other than Hoola, is it? This is the cult bronze by benefit and so many love it. Since becoming a cult favourite, it’s now available in 4 shades to suit different skin tones and is mostly used for contour. I feel like this bronzer defines my cheekbones so well and adds a sunkissed look to my face. As well as this, it’s also very pigmented so again, a little goes a long way and it lasts for ages! I’ve had mine for over a year and I’ve only just hit pan! If you want extremely sharp cheekbones, then you need to buy this!
Blush has definitely become my new favourite makeup product and the blushing hearts blush by Revolution in the shade Candy Queen of Hearts. This is so inexpensive, especially for the amount of product you get! It’s also extremely pigmented, and adds a natural rosy glow to the cheeks. This blush made me realise how important this product is when applying makeup! It’s become one of my essentials!
A YouTube OG highlight, Mac soft and gentle. This can be applied naturally or blinding and both results are absolutely gorgeous! This was my first high end highlighter and I fell in love with it straight away! You get so much product for your money, I haven’t even hit pan yet! This was one of my favourite beauty investments and I don’t regret one little bit! I do have many other favourite highlighters however which can give a blinding glow! Click here to read!
Luckily, my eyebrows are pretty thick so they only need a quick brush through and a little filling in so for this, I use the sleek eyebrow pencil. This, for me, is the perfect product as it has a brush on one side and the pencil on the other. I like my brows to be a quick job since they don’t need much seeing to, and this is great for it.
I’ve raved about it enough now for you all to know that I adore the Huda New Nudes palette! It’s the perfect palette for both natural and going out and I’ve been using it so much since I received it at Christmas! I’m a huge fan of pink shades and these dusty pinks are to die for! I’ve seen so many amazing looks created from this palette and I can’t wait to try some more out!
There’s no way that you haven’t seen this product before! It’s usually classed as the drugstore version of the Better than sex mascara, and of course, it’s the Maybelline Lash Sensational. Not only is the packaging adorable, the product is unbeatable. The lengthening aspect is amazing for me, I love long lashes and this is dramatic length while not being too volumising which is what I prefer! I love to curl my lashes befits applying this as it gives me a more awake appearance and larger eyes which is helpful since my eyes, in my opinion, are quite small.
I prefer lip glosses over lipstick and the one I always reach for is the Soap and Glory Pillow Plump gloss. I always buy the clear one and it has a slight shimmer to it which I also like and the tingly feeling is quite fun though my friend tried it and didn’t like it at all so it’s personal choice there! It adds the perfect natural finish to every makeup look.
This is another predictable product and it’s the Urban Decay setting spray. Nothing locks in my makeup as good as this and it’s at cult status for a reason. It’s price tag is slightly higher than you’d mostly likely be willing to pay but it really does stay true to its name! I use the de-slick version and it’s the best to keep my makeup on and my oily skin at bay!
