So, coming up with blog ideas can be really difficult, we’ve all had writers block, so in this post I’m going to share with you some tips on how to come up with blog ideas!
If you’re in a rut or think this may help you then please continue reading!
1. Check out Pinterest!
There’s so many pins out there that link you to blog posts consisting of lists of post ideas! I’ve seen lists of 65 all the way up to 2000! I’ve found these super helpful in the past and with thousands of ideas at your fingertips, you’ll never be idealess again! Another good thing about this is that many of the blog posts have multiple mini lists so they can help out more niches which is amazing but there’s also lists that are targeted to just one niche which means you know that the ideas are specifically ones that will fit your blog well.
2. Look at what’s around you!
Do you have overflowing makeup bags or maybe a cabinet full of video games. Got a popular one? Write a review! Recently done a DIY that you loved? Share it! Made the best brownies in the world? Recipe post! There’s so many possibilities with this! Especially reviews, you must own at least one thing that you can share your thoughts on! This can be covered by all niches and people love to read about how a product works out for you, especially highly raved about products! I love to read reviews as I feel blog posts give a more accurate representation than one left on the website as a blog post covers all aspect of the product rather than a quick overview of their thoughts.
3. Help other people!
Are you good at something and think you can share your expertise with others? If so, that’s a great blog post and I’ve heard that these types of post are great for driving traffic if that’s what you’re searching for! Helping out others is such a rewarding idea too, especially if someone comments to say that your advice helped them! Many blog posts that I’ve seen in this style is to help with blogging but there’s also amazing posts on how to use specific skincare tools and how to style a certain fashion items in X number of ways! These are such interesting types of posts and so many people always need help with so many things, you can never offer too much help!
4. Compare 2 products
This is particularly easy for beauty bloggers because I’m 99.9% sure we’ve all bought a dupe at one point! If you also bought the real one to compare it to, then why not write a blog post to compare how well it plays out? Everyone loves a good bargain and if you can find one then you should share it! I love to find dupes because it saves money while performing the same job as a high end product but I definitely think this can be introduced to other niches too. For example, Primark always copy designer fashion items and even if you don’t own that designer product, you can compare the Primark version to the real ones and give a review on how the Primark one plays off.
6. Write about experiences
These can be so funny and entertaining! I also personally love writing them! My post about some funny storytimes was enjoyed by many, they particularly liked the story about driving strangers! Read it here! The storytimes can also be about an achievement, the blogging community is very supportive and would tell you how proud they are of you! The experiences don’t even have to be recent so it can be a blog post you can start right now! Rack your brain for a really interesting life event and get writing!
7. Write about your favourite bloggers!
It takes so little time and it could really make someone’s day! Share a blog or blogs that you love to read and why! Not only are you getting more involved with the blogging community but you’re also writing a blog post out of it so it’s a win-win situation! You’re also helping a blog that you love to receive more traffic which is a very fulfilling feeling. I’ve done one post like this before that you can read here. I loved writing this post and shedding light on blogs that I enjoy reading! Everyone’s preference is different and personally I like to read beauty blogs but I do like to venture out and in the near future I may post a blog post on my favourite bloggers outside of my niche! I also like this idea as you can get inspiration for blog post ideas from your favourite bloggers!
