Are you looking for the best face masks for acne prone skin? Look no further!
Face masks are an essential to my skincare routine. I’ve been using them since quite a young age. This means I’ve experienced quite a few face masks with different benefits. In this post, I’m going to be covering my favourite face masks and what they do for my skin!
Charlotte Tilbury goddess skin clay mask*
This is one I have fell in love with recently! It’s perfect for all skin types and smells like roses. I have a review of this clay mask up on the blog. It’s very gentle on the skin and doesn’t dry down which is why it’s good for dry skin.
The clay itself, is what makes it good for oily skin. I’ve found this mask to have a very smoothening effect on the skin and feels my face feeling soft.
It doesn’t make your skin feel tight as other clay masks may.
Glam Glow Black #glittermask Gravitymud *
Okay so, one of the main reasons that I like this mask is just because it’s so fun.
I love the glitter and I love pulling it off. I think it’s much more entertaining than just washing it off! My tube is limited edition, but the one I’ve tagged is the regular gravity mud. It is the the exact same mask but different colour.
It’s also not too strong when it’s set so it doesn’t hurt when you pull it off. I’ve had face masks that are painful; it just really takes the fun out of it.
Once I’ve used it up, I’m going to purchase a different glitter mask to see how it compares because it does add an improvement, not much but still nonetheless I don’t know if that’s common among all peel off masks.
Lush Don’t Look at Me
Now, in my opinion, this is an underrated Lush product. It seems that the only face mask that gets recognition is the mask of magnaminty.
Although that one’s amazing, it just doesn’t quite work as well with my skin as the Don’t Look at Me mask. This one is a vibrant blue and has a citrus scent. It also gently exfoliates with soft grains of ground rice.
Whenever I wash this off, my skin feels super soft and smooth. This is what I want every time I use a face mask! It also seems to even out my complexion slightly which is a small added benefit!
Superdrug self heating chocolate orange mask
This mask is my literal skin saviour! I apply it, it heats up and my skin is perfectly clear 15 minutes later when I wash it off.
Not only is it my holy grail face mask, it also smells good enough to eat. I wouldn’t recommend it though since it has no ingredients that could make it even taste close to chocolate!
The next biggest benefit of this is the price. It’s 99p a sachet and you could get more than one use out of this though I always use the whole packet in one go. It would be quite messy to save for another time. As for how my skin is after, despite clear, it’s extremely soft, because it doesn’t dry out.
This is a benefit but be careful for your clothes!
Glam Glow SuperMud*
This is the mask I reach for when my skin is really playing up for 2 reasons. 1, it’s good at drying out the skin and 2, it’s very pricey.
Mostly when I use this mask, I use it to spot treat so I’m not wasting product. This way, it’s only drying out my spots and not the whole of my skin.
Sheet masks*
Now there isn’t a particular one but I do love sheet masks in general.
I tend to go for the Korean ones since they seem to be the experts for it.
Due to my oily skin, I follow the recommended time on the packet. When I take it off, I like to massage the serum into my face and neck.
I love the look of my skin the morning after using these types of masks. It’s just so supple and hydrated, though it’s definitely not a skin clearing mask so I avoid them during those times of the month when my skin decides to take revenge against me for absolutely no reason.
I try and use these once a month or so when my skin feels unusually dry, and it sorts them out straight away! Another bonus is that they’re also inexpensive!
The ordinary AHA & BHA peeling solution*
A facial in a bottle, there is a review of this peeling mask on my blog. It tingles when applied due to the strong acid concentration.
This mask has been all over social media, especially tiktok. It gained its hype due to its “blood-like” appearance on the skin. It’s exfoliating and really brightens the skin.
Make sure you patch test this one especially before use, if you have sensitive skin, this is important!
Ole henriksen cold plunge pore mask*
Another mask that I have reviewed! It really does make your pores smaller and make your skin feel really smooth!
It’s whole purpose is to balance oils so it’s perfect for oily skin.
Personally, I don’t get the “cold” sensation from the mask but I don’t mind. It provides great results and is a bright blue which adds a fun element!
It is quite comparable to mask of magnaminty by Lush but I do prefer this one!
So what are your holy grail masks? Let me know below! Which face masks do you find best for acne prone skin?
