I was thinking of blog post ideas earlier and I was surprised to find that I hadn’t yet done a skincare wishlist post. Skincare is my favourite thing ever! How could I not have done a skincare wishlist yet? I’d already done, beauty, handbag, Victoria’s Secret and travel wishlists. Luckily, I already had some products that I knew I wanted to blog about. So this post was going to be extremely easy and enjoyable to write!
Peter Thomas Roth Moor Mud Mask
I’ve seen many rave about the pumpkin mask by this brand. For me it’s the mud mask that really caught my eye. Mud masks are very good for blemish prone and oily skin. I’m a huge fan of GlamGlow supermud Mask. The only problem is that they dry your skin out terribly. Even though I have oily skin, drying out my skin does me no favours. It only makes my skin produce more oils! This mask however promises to hydrate your skin as well as decongest. It sounds like a dream come true! The only reason why this, along with the other products, are on my wishlist instead of in my draws is the price tag. It’s so expensive and I don’t want to be wasting my money. I am considering just taking the risk and buying it. It did pay off with the GlamGlow mask and even if it’s not effective as I hope, I’d probably still use it all anyway so it doesn’t taunt me. The colour also looks promising to me. I use the Biore charcoal face wash which is a complete holy grail for me. This mask is the exact same colour as that. It may be a far stretch, but to me, it’s logical thinking!
Elizabeth Arden Retinol capsules
Okay, so part of the reason for me wanting this is the fact that the capsules are rose gold. In case you didn’t know, it’s my favourite colour! Aside from that though, I feel like these would be really good for my skin. Over time, retinol has many benefits, including treating acne and evening out skin tone. This is because retinol stimulates the production of new skin cells. The results are not instant. If you don’t have patience then this isn’t the product for you. Over the years, I’ve had to learn to be patient with my skin so I think it’d be worth the wait. I’d be able to wait it out until I see results. Another thing I like about this product is that the capsules contain the perfect amount. This means you don’t use too much and waste your money. (Something I’d be likely to do!) You use one a day and you can either buy them in jars of 30 or 60 so it’d either be a monthly or bimonthly investment. If the result is clear skin, it may be an investment that I’m willing to make.
Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial
This was raved about immensely when Drunk Elephant first launched and it sounds amazing! In reality, the whole brand would be on my skincare wishlist but this is the one that caught my eye most. The reason why this got so much hype is because the amount of AHA it has in it. This product has 25% in it which was groundbreaking since no other product contained that much! Their purpose is the exfoliate and resurface the skin which is what this product claims to do but this product takes it a step further and says that it’ll leave your skin feeling as soft a baby’s which honestly, it screams out to me. Don’t you just miss you soft, clear childhood skin because honestly, I took it for granted! I also love the fresh look of the packaging, it makes it look very modern and the lids add the pop of colour which catches the eye, it’s very clever. The lid for this product is pink too, it adds another little benefit! For definite I’m going to definitely treat myself to this mask after my exams because I’m sure the stress breakouts will be hideous!
I’ve seen this toner all over the Instagram skin care videos now and it’s showing me so much that I just want to try it! It looks so cool when you shake it since it’s not a clear liquid like other toners, it has clay and charcoal in it that swirl together when you shake it. It also has an infusion of witch hazel to help with breakouts. It’s also targeted towards oily skin. Really it sounds like a product that practically made for me! I would really love to try this product since I’m a fan of all Glam Glow masks, but a toner is a product I use everyday and I’m not sure that I want to dish out the money for a toner just because it looks cool. I use witch hazel as a toner at the minute which surely is more powerful than this toner? But who knows, maybe the activated charcoal amplifies the effect that the witch hazel has? Maybe I’ll just have to buy it and find out…
Now this is the one I’m most skeptical about because it’s a self-proclaimed miracle worker! All the ingredients support it’s magical claims and the fact that it’s a cult product for many and is used on many models adds to its impressiveness. I haven’t seen any bad reviews on this cream but is it really that magical? Can it really be the miracle that it claims? I’m not so sure, the price tag is so expensive and I’m not sure that it can be justified. So now you may be thinking, “so why is it on your list?” And that’s a good question. My answer; I want to test it out for myself! I have to see if it can really transform my skin in one use, that would be a miracle! I’m curious to see how it works with my oily skin because all the ingredients are hydrating. Will it help control my oils or make them worse? I think this product really will be hit or miss with no in between and I’m not sure if it’s worth taking the risk!
So, that’s my skincare wishlist, what’s top of yours?
