As you may know if you follow my Twitter, this week I have been on holiday to Mallorca. The purpose of the trip was to relax after my A-levels and that I did! It was good to just soak in the sun and do nothing after weeks of long hours of revision.
The beach
The hotel had a beach just a short walk away from it and it was really cute. The sea was clear and you were able to swim easily in it once you passed the stoney part. Luckily, there were deck chairs for hire too which was convenient as the sand got extremely hot in the blazing sun. There was also a beach hut that sold ice cream and drinks and a man that sold fresh fruit which was amazing! I had a pineapple almost everyday and it was very refreshing.
We went to the beach quite a lot during the week as we don’t have one near us at home and we definitely don’t have one with clear blue sea! I alternated between sunbathing and swimming in the sea which was good as the sea was a good way to cool down!
The only problem with the beach was jellyfish! You couldn’t see them in the water but one day they were particularly bad and 2 of my sisters ended up getting stung! Luckily the lifeguards has a special paste for them and the sting is healing fine.
The hotel
We stayed at Club Cala Romani and it’s a really, really good hotel.
The rooms are really clean and every room has a balcony, despite ours being at the back, it still had a pretty good view which we were thankful for and the balcony was also good to leave bikinis to dry.
There were 3 pools too which I think is really good. There’s a very shallow pool for little children and it’s also the only pool where inflatables are allowed so lifeguards views aren’t obstructed. A medium pool is beside it and this goes from shallow to relatively deep but not so deep that it’s dangerous. My 2 youngest sisters who are 9 and 11 and aren’t confident swimmers were absolutely fine in the deepest end and could still touch the ground. The middle pool is also where the aqua-gym took place which was really fun and directed to all ages. Then, there was the deepest pool, I spent most time in this pool as I found it easier to swim in and even at the deepest point, I could still touch the bottom though it was up to my chin.
Another good thing about the pool was that all around the pool, it told you the depth so you wouldn’t go deeper than you’d feel comfortable in.
It’s also an all-inclusive hotel so you could go up and get as many drinks as you wanted! The food however, not so impressive. I understand that they had to cater for many nationalities but I found myself opting for chips on most days which isn’t very good at all. Many just wasn’t appealing or tasted so strongly that it just wasn’t good.
The entertainment was good. Children’s disco was at 8:30 every night and the main entertainment was at 10. It was aimed towards both adults and children though I feel the children probably enjoyed it more than the older audience. That being said however, I did enjoy the entertainment.
Shopping
In Mallorca there’s a lot of fake designer clothes. They all looked real too! Burberry scarves, Gucci caps, Louis Vuitton purses. The only ones that’d give away as a fake was the Michael Kors handbags. They would pass as real from a distance as the logo is perfect but where the ring is supposed to say Michael Kors, instead it said, Michael Michele.
It was very inexpensive though and for that price, you’d be crazy not to snatch them up!
We went into the town quite a lot and everyday we saw something new that we hadn’t spotted the day before. During the week I purchased a Burberry scarf, a Louis Vuitton purse and a Moschino perfume. The perfume however was real as in the middle of the market was a Sephora-type shop. Despite it being real, I still saved £10 than if I paid for it in the UK.
We also went into the town quite a lot to eat and we quickly found a favourite place. The best was Venecia Pizzeria. The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing and inexpensive. We are there several times and the cocktails were good too! I had strawberry daiquiri twice and a tequila sunrise. I can safely say that strawberry daiquiris are my new favourite cocktails!
It was an amazing week and it was good to chill out without having to stress about anything!
Are you going on holiday this year? Let me know in the comments below!
It looks amazing! It made me want to go there right now 😀 !! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for reading! It was amazing!
I went to Mallorca last year and we had the same issue with the jelly fish! It was nice to read your experience:)
Thanks! Luckily I wasn’t stung but quite a lot of people were
Jellyfish suck! Their stings are super painful – I have heard a few people say they have had issues with them around Mallorca – it still sounds like a lovely island though ♥ x
Definitely! Luckily I wasn’t stung but my two sisters found it painful, we did appreciate that the beach picked up on the problem though and had pastes to help soothe it and speed up recovery. Despite the jelly fish, it was a very good holiday destination! Xx
