Well, it’s been a sweet while since I’ve written one of these posts and I’m currently writing this while with a pink gin. That’s probably not a good idea but we’ll see how this post goes!
So, recently I had my A-level results day and I did much better than I could ever think but unfortunately, it wasn’t good enough for my first choice uni. I got BBB. Since receiving the news, I had to call other universities through a resource called clearing which is where you apply to courses that still have spaces left. Luckily I secured a place on Human Biology. Although I’m happy that I have a place, I’m still slightly disappointed that I missed the grade my a narrow margin. As this post goes live, my maths a-level is undergoing a remark. I was 2 marks off of an A and if it comes back as an A grade then I’ll be able to study medicine at my original university. If not, I’ll be doing Human Biology then going into post grad medicine.
I was blown away when I saw that my maths a-level was only 2 marks off of an A as all year I’d been failing maths and my teachers had predicted me an E in my final exam. Thankfully, my hard work paid off and I cried with relief and happiness when I saw I hadn’t failed- I really thought I was coming away with a D! For my Biology, I had no clue what to expect, I thought the exams went really well but in the past when I’d thought the same, I’d come away with bad grades. As for chemistry, I suspected I may get a C but the exams were quite difficult so I was pleasantly surprised to see the B!
Since my last life update post, I’ve been soaking up the sunshine! I had my holiday in Mallorca that you can read about in more detail here. That gave me the perfect opportunity to get a tan and since then, the UK has been moderately sunny and I’ve been keeping it topped up nicely! Thanks to the weather however, our family has been hosting more BBQs so I’ve been having my fair share of pink gin and cocktails!
I’ve also seen a huge decrease in my money too since finishing exams and I’ve been shopping a whole lot more! There’s been significantly more products going on my Instagram story and you may have seen a few hauls going up such as my mini holiday haul and my biggest haul yet! I’m not too mad at myself as I’ve bought things I’ve wanted and shopping is my way of destressing but I do wish that I’d have saved a little more since I’ll need it for university!
What I have enjoyed a lot recently is spending more time with my family. I’ll soon be at university and it’ll be strange not seeing them everyday so I’ve been making all the memories count! We’ve been on days out and been having more family nights which I’m happy about. It’s my mum who I’ve enjoyed spending most time with though. She’s my favourite person and never fails to make me laugh. In the past year she’s had 3 operations and after this recent one she’s been so well. She has a number of complications and as they’ve accumulated over the past 2 years she’s become ill. Since the last operation she’s been back to her old self and it’s really made a difference! I’m so glad that she feels so much better and it’s given me a bit more reassurance for when I leave.
I have been spending quite a lot of days at the beach too, if you follow my Instagram then you’ll see I’ve posted a few beach photos as it’s simply my favourite place to be! I just think that the sea is so beautiful and I’ve actually made a hobby out of skimming stones! I took it upon myself on one of the trips this year and I managed to get the hang of it pretty quickly! When I first successfully managed it, I was so excited. It was the first time I’d done it in my whole 18 years of life so I was pretty proud to be honest…
Due to my hectic schedule, I haven’t been engaging as much on my blog social media accounts which I’m not proud of. I love to interact with other bloggers and readers. It really makes a difference when you’re not able to! Despite this, I’ve still tried to keep up my Pinterest schedule though not as strict and I’ve still managed to write posts! It’s not the most ideal but I’m glad that I’m still fitting my blog into my daily routine! Once everything is sorted then I’ll be back on social media and active on others’ blogs!
How’s your life recently? Let me know in the comments below!
Congratulations on your great A-Level results! You should be very proud of your hard work as it paid off. Fingers crossed your maths paper will come back as an A, but if not, don’t worry because I’m sure you will have a great time studying Human Biology at the other University. Sometimes life takes us in a different direction than we planned because that’s what’s meant to be!
So glad to hear you’ve been having such a lovely summer! Make the most of the sunshine and family days before you set off on your new adventure at Uni! x
Thank you so much! 💕
