It’s that time again and I’m so excited! I decided to buy a new Leuchttrum for the new year as I really want to be consistent this year. Again, I opted for the black one though other colours are available. I am so pleased with my bullet journal theme this month! I think I’ve improved so much but I also liked last year’s January theme. To see that, click here.
Now, let’s get into it.
Disclaimer: on the images, you may see shadowing, this is where the pen shows through the paper. I did my best to avoid this on the photos but it still occurred.
Cover page
As you can see, for my January spreads, I’ve opted for a purple theme and jewels. I got this idea from @b.bulletjournal on Instagram. This was her January bullet journal theme in 2018. Since I’m not the most artistic, I thought this would be an easier theme to pull off. I’m so pleased with how this cover turned out. My calligraphy has also improved immensely since beginning to bullet journal. By a long stretch, I know I’m not perfect but I’m a lot better than I was in the past. This was the perfect first page for my fresh journal!
Monthly spread
Again, I’m so happy with how this turned out! It’s so simple but so pretty! I also love how I managed to incorporate my new metallic pens into this month’s spreads. To me, they add a little something extra. They just make them more aesthetic? The calendar layout is pretty simple and I’ve also added a space where I can put goals. This is especially useful since I can write my New Year’s resolutions here. Already I know that this won’t be my most used page. What I do know though, is that seeing my goals daily is more likely to help me reach them!
Mood tracker

This was probably the hardest one to plan out. I wanted to make every jewel different but it was quite difficult! My favourite aspect of this one is that I have more colours so I can be more accurate with the mood. December’s mood tracker also allowed me to be more specific about my mood. You can view that here. Despite not having 31 completely unique jewels, I’d still say I did a good job. I can’t wait to view this tracker at the end of the month. Hopefully, all the jewels will be coloured!
Quote page
For the first time, my quote isn’t from the bible. I just thought that this quote may be more appropriate for the new year. This is also one of my favourites as I got to use my silver metallic pen. In the pack, I got a gold, silver and bronze pen. My favourite without a doubt is the silver. I especially love to use it with purple as the colours go so well together. Whenever I look at this page, I know it’s going to make me more determined to make the year a good one. There’s no point calling it an adventure if you don’t make it eventful. Of course, eventful in a good way! The jewels don’t really fit in this page yet I felt they needed to be included to make this page fit in.
Dream log

The dream log is back! I haven’t included it in the past few months that I’ve actually journaled in. Honestly, I missed reading them! If you’ve read my past bullet journal post then you’d know I like these pages as I have the craziest dreams. You wouldn’t believe it. When I’m down, I sometimes like to read through these pages. It’s crazy that my subconscious managed to put some of them together. Whenever I’ve skipped this page out it’s simply when I haven’t dreamt much the month before. It makes me feel like it’s a waste of paper. You can bet I dream loads that next month though! It’s definitely not an essential page for a bullet journal. Then again, no pages are! I just like to read over my crazy dreams. It’s like mini stories I’ve made up!
Weekly spread
Like last month, I went with fitting my monthly spread on just one page. It takes up less paper and it gives me just enough space to write my lists. In the past, I’ve done my weekly spreads over 2 pages and I hated how I always have lots of blank spaces that I didn’t fill. Weekly spreads help me so much, seeing a to-do list makes me much more motivated. I always want to have completed my to-do list of the day and I usually do. If you procrastinate, I highly recommend keeping to-do lists as I do so badly but I always managed to get things done. If I didn’t keep to-do lists then I’d be a complete wreck that never gets anything done!
Favourites
A very simple favourites page this month. What I’m not happy about, is the fact that my February cover photo is shadowing heavily. Any guesses as to what theme that may be? I’ve only planned out the cover for that month so far! Anyway, back to the favourites. I like to keep this page to see how my opinions change over the course of the year. I’ll see songs I used to listen to and wonder why, or I realise I miss it! It’s a useful page for me too as it helps me plan what to include in my favourites post. It was also my first time creating a title of that design. I’m quite pleased with how successful it was!
