You may recall my Foreo Luna mini 2 review. Recently a company has contacted me and kindly gifted me the PMD Clean, a rivalling facial brush. This post will outline similarities and differences to the Foreo Luna mini 2 as well as a review on its performance.
Similarities between the Foreo Luna Mini 2 and PMD clean
The first similarity between these brushes is of course the colour. Both are a pale pink which I love but both brands also offer a range of colours which means that it can be a little more personal to yourself.
Both also use pulsations to deeply clean the skin and ensure all dirt is removed from the skin. Not only this but both also have different modes. The Foreo has speed modes whereas the PMD Clean has 2 vibration modes and 2 massage modes. They recommend the massage modes to apply serum as it pushes it further into the skin than your hand can.
Both are made of silicone so are very hygienic and aren’t a risk of worsening your skin. I usually rinse mine after each use and it has been fine for me. Others opt to wash with both soap and water but I personally haven’t found that necessary. The silicone also isn’t too hard so the bristles are gentle to the skin. This is a particular benefit as if you’re too rough on your skin, your skin suffers.
The price is also the same. Due to the release of the Luna mini 3, the Foreo Luna mini 2 recently declined in price to £99. The PMD Clean, as far as I know, has always been £99. I think the price for both is reasonable. They both do exactly the same thing so in all honesty, I wasn’t expecting too much of a difference in price.
Now, the last similarity is that they’re both waterproof. I use my facial brush in the shower so being waterproof is an extremely important factor to me. Thankfully they’re both waterproof so provide no danger for me. On the other hand, it does make it difficult to choose a favourite between the two.
Differences between Foreo Luna mini 2 and the PMD Clean
The main difference between the two devices is that the Foreo Luna mini 2 doesn’t have a handle, whereas the PMD Clean does. I am a particular fan of the handle as it gives me a better grip, especially because I use the facial brush in the shower. It’s not a major feature for some but I personally appreciate it.
Another difference which is quite substantial is the power source. The Foreo Luna mini 2 is powered via a charging cable, the PMD clean, is powered by batteries. Personally, I prefer the Luna Mini’s way of power but PMD do kindly provide the first battery and only one is required. The battery also lasts very long too so new ones are not required very quickly.
PMD Clean has no timing feature. The Luna mini 2 has a pause in pulsations when you should change the area of your face that your massaging. PMD say that there’s no timing device as everyone’s skin is different so different times work for different people. I agree with this but I also liked the device doing the timing for me. Despite this, I still used the device for 15 seconds on each section just as I did with the Luna mini 2 just to make this comparison fair. It was a little repetitive timing 15 seconds each time but it did give me something to do rather than have a blank mind. This sounds so bad but it’s not as bad as it seems- I promise!
The bristles of the PMD Clean is also shorter than the Foreo Luna mini 2. This makes cleaning a lot easier and I don’t think it compromises the performance of the brush at all. I use a lush facial cleanser with this brush as I did with the Foreo one. Usually, small bits of charcoal get stuck between the bristles. Due to the shorter length of the PMD Clean, it’s much easier to get these out after using.
How well does the PMD Clean perform?
I have found the PMD Clean to perform pretty much the same as the Foreo Luna mini 2. I instantly switched from the Foreo brush to the PMD one and I noticed no negative effect from this. It kept my skin just as clean and as a result, just as clear.
Like I said, I appreciate the handle and the different settings. I’ve been particularly impressed by the massage settings as it’s actually helped my serums sink in better than expected and quickly too! My skin always feels soft after using and makes me much more confident in my skin.
If I had to choose a favourite between the 2, I think I may steer towards the PMD. It may seem bias but the PMD offers a handle, different types of pulsations, shorter bristles for easier cleaning and all the benefits that the Foreo has to offer. Despite the Foreo having the win for charging methods and timers, the PMD has a slight advantage that puts it in the lead. I will continue to use both however as both keep my skin in the good condition that I like it in.
Do you use a facial cleansing device?

I’ve always been intrigued by these cleansing brushes, and whether they actually make a difference. From reading your post it sounds like they can make your skin feel lovely. Bet your face feels amazing afterwards; and perfect for a bit of pampering.
I may just look into getting one of these now!
Thanks for sharing!

I 100% recommend! Xx
I’ve never used a facial cleansing brush, but this looks absolutely great! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for reading! Xx
I have also been using the PMD Clean as I was gifted it too! I got the black one which I like because it looks so sleek, but the pink one is such a pretty colour too. I really like the PMD and it’s helped my skin too. I’m glad it came out top in your review because it makes me glad I’ve got that one, even though the Foreo also sounds good.
It was very close! Luckily I got to choose my colour and I obviously had to go with pink! Glad you love yours as much as I love mine! Xx
I did wonder if you got to choose your colour because I would have guessed that you would choose pink! I can’t remember if I was given a choice or not, but I think I wanted it to be a surprise because I liked all the colours. At first, I was slightly disappointed that I got black because it was a more ‘boring’ colour but I soon realised I actually really liked the look of it in black! Xx
Yes I did get to choose and I’m very glad! Black would definitely suit my cleanser as my pink one can get a bit dirty but I do find mine very easy to clean xx
That’s definitely an advantage of the black one, it won’t show any stains! And like you say, it’s very easy to clean anyway xx
I heard so much about these, they sound like such a good way to clean your skin however i couldn’t justify getting one at that price x
Foreo do smaller ones that have a set number of uses for cheaper so you can try it out before you buy? Xx
I’ve never used a facial cleaning brush, but it’s something I really want to invest in! I’m definitely going to check out both of these as options! x

Both are great options and it’s a choice of preference as they both cost the same xx

Really interested to hear the difference between the two. I really like cleansing brushes but never know which to choose so this was
really helpful!
