That time has come again, and we’re onto May, we’re almost halfway through 2020 already! How crazy is that? I had a very colourful April theme and this one is slightly more toned down. Despite that, this may possibly be one of my favourite themes of 2020! I’ll not keep you waiting any longer and we’ll jump into it!
Cover page
So my theme is inspired by my favourite Disney character- Winnie the Pooh! I didn’t want to do Pooh any injustice due to my limited artistic skills so I settled for a pot of honey. I also added some cute bees above the title. They may look happy and innocent but they’re really protecting the honey! I’m also glad with the grass. The tombow pens as mentioned in my April bullet journal post, are great for strokes like this and they’re also very good for calligraphy which I try and incorporate into every cover page I do. I wasn’t too happy with the honey pot when I first drew it but it’s slowly growing on me, I think it’s trying to make it look 3D which failed me.
Monthly spread
I really like this spread and I think it’s the simplicity that I enjoy. The title really stands out to me and the bees are really cute! I’ve written my goals in the usual manner and “get abs” does seem far-fetched but if you read my morning routine, I mentioned how I’ve been doing workouts every morning. After only 3 days of a certain ab workout, which you can find here, I was already seeing results! The earning money from my blog is the one I really want to push this month as making affiliate sales is the best feeling ever so hopefully I can do it!
Self care page
This is a new page specifically for may and it’s here because I won’t have a weekly spread this month as I’m not at university and any exams/assessments will be due in or during this month. Therefore, I won’t need as much space for a to-do list as mostly I’ll be working on my blog so I won’t need to write those tasks out. I’m usually pretty good at sticking to blogging goals. I think the bath one will be good as it’ll make a nice relaxing change to showering all the time. I’m also excited to start stretching as the workouts can leave me quite sore!
Mood tracker
Now this one looking a bit like my Easter egg one. Despite that, I do slightly like it and how it turned out! Once the month’s over it will definitely be more colourful which will give this page a slight edge to the others. Unless I’m sad of course in which all the honey pots will be brown. Let’s hope that’s not the case! I always try to be positive so usually I have the top 2 happy colours most prominent in these mood trackers! Generally, I only have 1 or 2 of the worst moods per month which is pretty good going, but of course, that can still be improved!
Habit tracker
These really do help me keep to goals and I took a different visual approach this month. Usually I do 31 little boxes and add a cross if I achieved that habit for the day. This time I’ve numbered down as added a little icon to represent the habit. If I stick to that habit, I’ll add a little tick or dot beneath the icon on the corresponding day. I’ve also added 2 plump bees either side of the title which I found cute! I also like the lettering of the title. It’s something a bit different and I like how it turned out.
Dream tracker
I LOVE this page this month! I especially love the quote at the bottom. It’s very fitting of the theme and I like the lettering for the word honey. I just think it’s very cute and does make it stand out how I wanted. I will probably be incorporating this font into my later month themes so hopefully you all like it as much as I do! Because of the quote, I haven’t had any doodles to the page as the theme is pulled in by other methods. The only think I’m slightly annoyed by is using yellow for the lines 2 months in a row but I can definitely look past that!
Brain dump
My exams for university got cancelled so I didn’t think I’d need a weekly spread but turns out that they are still going ahead with a few of them so I probably could have used one! Besides that, this is the page for any to-do lists that I need to do. I figured either they’d be really small or not very frequent. Rather than wasting paper, I just used one page to jot down anything I needed to nice and quickly. I wanted as much space as possible so I only added a honey pot at the top to add the touch of the theme.
Favourites
The theme got incorporated quite heavily into this one. I used the purple writing for the colour of the honey pot in Winnie the Pooh. I added the bee as they’ve been present throughout and dropping honey too. I also added the dotted lines which people usually draw to represent a bees journey. Although the theme is most prominent in this page, it’s not my favourite of the whole months layout. I definitely prefer the dream tracker.
What’s your favourite page from this post?
