Hair styling tools can really make your hair your star quality! When done correctly, they can help frame your face and even compliment an outfit! I love hair styling tools such as straighteners and curling wands when I want my hair to look extra pretty. This is usually on night outs in uni or when I go on dates with my boyfriend.
In this post, I’m sharing with you my favourite hair styling tools that have given me my best hair ever!
Which brand offers the best hair tools?
You may be expecting me to say GHD here as they have often been named the best for hair tools. For me however, Cloud Nine has earned the title of the best hair styling tool brand.
Their products have been designed to be extra kind to hair.
They use Kinder Styling technology, this is exclusive to the brand and is what makes your hair glossy and long lasting, yet it doesn’t take away the strength of your hair.
To minimise damage, they use 2 features. Mineral infused ceramic plates and anions, help lock in moisture and also, like mentioned, minimise damage.
The hair styling tools also have temperature control to keep your hair less damaged. With Cloud Nine, you can use lower temperatures yet get the same results if not better, than if you used higher-temperature hair styling brands.
What are my hair styling tool recommendations?
The Cloud Nine Airshot Hairdryer*
A hairdryer is an essential hair tool though not necessarily for styling.
The airshot hairdryer* is one of the quickest I’ve used. It dried my hair completely in about 10 minutes. Usually, on my thick hair, it takes 20 minutes minimum to dry it!
There are 3 different heat setting and 2 power settings. I like to use the middle heat setting and full power setting first then I keep it on full power but change it to cold at the end. This personally makes my hair more shiny and I feel it adds less damage. The way I see it is, using the cold setting is like walking outside with wet hair on a windy day. That’s surely not damaging- right?
It comes with 2 nozzles. I prefer the larger one as it then covers more of my hair. Recently, I was watching Brad Mondo who’s a hairdressing YouTuber and he said that these nozzles are important. This is because it puts distance between the heat and your hair. I’d never knew this before he said it and it makes so much sense. I definitely won’t be using it without a nozzle now!
What makes the airshot* so special? It uses anti-static technology meaning you’ll get a lot less frizz using this hairdryer! Since I have the frizziest hair, I can confirm that this is true! It’s also a huge benefit as it means you don’t have to use another hair styling tool after this so there’s less heat getting applied to your hair.
The Cloud Nine Touch iron*
Now this one, is revolutionary! You turn it on by tapping the plates together twice! How cool is that? I haven’t heard of another hair styling tool, let alone another pair of straighteners that do that! They also heat up in only 30 seconds!
I chose these as they were the more affordable option and this is simply because they only have 2 heat settings – 165 and 195 degrees Celsius. I use the 195 setting but if you want to change to 165, you tap the plates together again!
If you long for a salon straight finish then you need a pair of Cloud 9 straighteners! They offer a micro iron* that’s good for travelling, a wide iron* for thicker hair and an original iron* that’s good for any hair type. I’d say the touch is most similar to the original as it’s good for all types.
Like the Airshot, there’s no frizz. This is due to the ceramic plates. You only have to go over your hair once and you’re left with lusciously sleek hair.
What I also love about Cloud 9 straighteners is that they turn off after 30 minutes. This makes it the perfect hair styling tool for those forgetful people who always ask themselves if they turned their straighteners off!
The Cloud Nine Curling Wand*
Not an essential styling tool but who doesn’t love curls every so often! I love the natural waves that this wands can create.
They have both a micro-wand* and a waving wand*. As you can guess, the micro wand is for tight curls and the waving wand is for loose waves. The curling wand* however can create both these so I’d say these are more budget-friendly and versatile. The slow baked barrels is what makes this hair tool safer for your hair. I love curling my hair when I go out. The only down side to this is waking up a bit earlier. I’m not sure about you but curling takes me so much longer than straightening!
A glove is included in this purchase which is very helpful as I’ve burnt my hands a couple of times when curling my hair in the past! You also get a case for them, as you do with the straighteners. This will be great for when I got back to university so the wires don’t get tangled and they’re in a nice compact case. The Airshot doesn’t come with a case but I’m definitely going to look into getting a case as the box is quite bulky.
There’s 3 heat settings on this tool: low, medium and high. I like to stick to medium and this is still obviously hot but it gives me the style that I’m looking for while also being long-lasting. I’d recommend the hotter setting if you have thicker and longer hair whereas if you have thinner or shorter hair then the lower setting is probably best for you. I probably will try with the other settings just to see how they work with my hair. When first using it, I thought it’d be safer to use the medium heat setting. My hair is fairly strong so I figured if the medium setting was hot then my hair should withstand it.
And that’s it for my hair styling tool recommendations! What’s your favourite hair tools?
I rarely style my hair unless I’m going out out which isn’t often! So this was really interesting to read, thankyou for sharing x
Glad you liked it! I rarely put an effort in too but when I do, these are the ones I reach for! Xx
These look so fancy..especially the hiar dryer! Unfortunately I,dont put heat on my hair anymore, but I would them for that reason alone lol
Yeah, they’re so much more gentle!
These tools sound really good – that’s so cool that the straighteners turn on by tapping the plates together! I have naturally wavy/curly hair and I used to straighten it all the time but it was getting damaged so lately I have been letting it go curly and avoiding using heat on it. Sometimes I miss having straight hair though, but as I already have a pair of GHDs I wouldn’t be able to justify buying these! xx
These are much better for your hair than GHDs! Xx
