Facial fall beauty tips
Exfoliate
Autumn is known to make your skin more dull, exfoliation can prevent this. I love chemical exfoliation, physical exfoliators can damage your skin due to the beads/grit being too sharp. My favourite exfoliation product is the Ordinary’s peeling solution, it gives me a gorgeous glow after using. I have a review on my blog about these peeling solution where I discuss the results in detail and why it works so well!
Moisturiser
Switch your moisturiser to something a little more heavy duty. As the weather gets colder, your skin will get drier and that lightweight moisturiser just won’t cut it any more! Don’t go too heavy yet, just ease your skin into a richer moisturiser so it has time to adapt and thank you for it!
Lip scrubs
This is a must-have fall beauty product! Your lips will become chapped and it’s up to you to have a trusty scrub and lip balm nearby. There’s no worse feeling than dried and cracked lips. It’s painful and I get into the awful habit of pulling at peeling skin on my lips and it’s so bad! Lip scrubs will buff this dead skin away gently and the balm will help it heal quicker.
Darker lip colours
Fall is the perfect time to pull out those plum and deep purple/berry lip colours. I definitely recommend matte lip colours for autumn but ensure you’ve used a lip balm beforehand. These formulas are known to be drying and you don’t want your lip colour to be patchy, dried and cracking. My personal choice for lip product is gloss or a tint so if like me, you don’t like how dry the matte products make your lips feel, try a lip tint in a berry shade. The colour won’t be as intense but it’ll incorporate that fall vibe into your makeup.
Browns, red and oranges in eye looks
Smokey eyes are always the trend for autumn and I’ve got to say, they look gorgeous. I love to incorporate cool brown tones and champagne shimmers into my eye look during fall and my favourite palette is the Morphe 24G. I’ve always wondered if these colours trend because they match the colours of the falling leaves but I have a feeling it could just be my strange mind… or maybe, genius..?
Body fall beauty tips
Take care of your hands!
I will never overlook hand cream ever again after my first ever stock shift at Iceland. It made my hands so sore and using that hand cream after was heavenly. In the fall, my hands start to get really dry, obviously, lotion is going to help that. Not only that, but massaging lotion into your hands can really warm them up! For me, this is essential as my hands get cold so easily!
Care for your hair
I know you’re probably bored of me constantly talking about adding moisture but it’s so important. Anyway, who wouldn’t want to have luscious locks throughout fall? I love hair masks, my hair always feels so soft after using them and the scent lasts so much longer than regular shampoo and conditioner. My go-to is the CoCo LoCo mask by Lee Stafford. It smells so good, like coconuts, although I may switch to a more autumnal scent for fall. I’m rooting to find a pumpkin pie scented one though I’m not too confident!๏ฟผ
Lotion
Like moisturiser, your lotion should be richer in fall. It may also be your preference to switch to an Autumnal scent. Vanilla pumpkin anyone…? I love warmer scents in fall and I love the feeling of applying a rich lotion, especially to freshly shaved legs. Moisturiser also helps you prolong the duration of your Summer tan, and who wouldn’t want that throughout Autumn. Keep that natural tan as long as possible, fake tan is an extra effort!
Go for a walk
In Autumn, the leaves are so pretty and going for a walk can really clear you mind and help you feel better. There’s also something really nice about wrapping up in a cute coat and scarf and feeling nice! Not only this, but walking is a good way to keep up with your Summer fitness. I love to go for long walks and after a while, I notice my legs are slightly more toned and slimmer. Of course you don’t need to lose weight to be beautiful but I do know that many people like to get fitter and don’t know how to do so when Fall comes around.
Catch up on beauty sleep
It starts to get dark early and light later in Fall so it’s perfect opportunity to get those extra hours in bed! Over this summer, I’ve been trying to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Honestly, it’s made a world of difference and I’ll be carrying this habit through into Autumn. Also, I adore cuddling up under the covers in fall as it is so cosy and there’s no chance of getting too warm like in summer. So much happens within your body when you sleep and it’s vital that you get enough!
Take vitamin D
With the sun going into hiding (especially in England) for Autumn, it’s going to be hard to get the adequate amounts of vitamin D. Luckily you can get supplements and you just take one a day and it’ll keep those levels at the ideal standard. Vitamin D regulates phosphate and calcium levels. This is essential for bone health, and a lack of vitamin D can lead to a bone pain called osteomalacia. Surely that’s not something you want, right?
That is it for my fall beauty tips! What’s your go-to beauty tip?
Brilliant beauty tips here. I find I wear more make up and nail polish etc in the autumn, I just love the colours and I have less risk of it slipping off my face in this heat!
My skin always needs a little extra help when the seasons change as the change in weather really impacts it. I will be trying some of these items out x
Thank you! I hope you enjoy them all! Xx
Fab post, some really good beauty tips for heading into autumn!
Thank you! Xx
i tend to gravitate towards a more natural look in autumn, so it you want to make your brows look more full without drawing them on and cant afford tinted brow gel, take 2 tablespoons of vaseline and mix them with a bit of crushed brow powder
Thatโs a good idea! Xx
Yes to lip scrubs and hand cream. Over the last few months, all the added house chores while being in lockdown has completely made my hands dry. I definitely need to get myself some hand cream asap!
I love using my hand cream! Xx

It’s been feeling so Autumnal lately, I keep having to remind myself it’s still August! These are really good tips – I like the idea of switching to Autumn scented products. I normally don’t think about matching the scent of my products to the season. I also get really dry hands and lips when the weather turns colder, so I will definitely be using lip balm and hand cream! xx
