Let’s start by saying that 2020 has not been a good year for many. We’ve all been locked down, and isolating and it’s really been a year we’re going to want to forget.
Despite this, lockdown gave me the opportunity to discover some new products. I definitely dented my bank balance over lockdown but in my opinion (maybe not my mum’s!) they were worth it!
Due to lockdown, I don’t actually have many makeup finds but I have found some amazing skincare and hair products!
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk mascara
My mum got me this mascara and it blew me away!
I was skeptical at first as it was very liquidy so I thought it’d clump my eyelashes but I was so wrong!
It makes my eyelashes so long while also separating them and giving them volume. The colour is very pigmented and the brush is so easy to use and control.
Not only is the product amazing, but the packaging is so cute. If you can’t tell by my blog theme, I love pink and this just fits this blog perfectly!
Thank you mum!
Lush Sleepy lotion
Now I have a post on how to sleep easier and I mention this lotion.
During lockdown, I was working in a supermarket and it required me waking up at 2am! This meant I had to go to sleep really early so I had enough sleep to keep me going. Thankfully, this lotion helped me a lot!
It has a lavender scent that also has some sweeetness to it and I love it! Not only is the scent very comforting but it’s so moisturising on my skin.
I’m not the only one to vouch for this beauty find though, many on the internet has claimed it helped cure their insomnia! It’s magic!

Ole Henriksen Cold plunge pore mask
This is a beauty find that was discovered towards the end of the year and I have a review of this pore mask that goes into all the details.
In short, I didn’t get the cooling sensation promised by this mask but the results were instant which isn’t too common in face masks.
This mask, as guessed by the name, promises to reduce the appearance of pores and for me, it did. It also helped reduce the appearance of my spots straight away.
Now I’ve been using it a while, my skin has never looked better!
The Inkey list salicylic acid cleanser
This was a lockdown discovery and my skin has never been more grateful! Like many, I was binging Skincare by Hyram during lockdown and it was him who introduced me to the Inkey List.
It’s quite a similar brand to the Ordinary. Not only did I buy this but I bought a whole new ordinary-inspired skincare routine.
This cleanser is definitely one of the products that helped clear my skin. It contains salicylic acid which is known to help with acne-prone and oily skin. That described my skin to a tee!
Now, I can proudly say that my skin is only oily!
Oh! K soothing face balm
This product lasts SO long! I’m still on my first tube and I purchased it in May! That means it’s lasted 7 months!
It was another contender in my Ordinary skincare routine. This is because it’s fragrance free much like many of the Ordinary products!
My favourite thing about this product is that it isn’t very oily and greasy. It’s more hydrating rather than moisturising. If you have oily skin, try out a hydrating moisturiser, it’s helped control my oils so much!
It’s also a product to help with acne as it contains white tea which is purposefully included to help reduce inflammation!

Foreo Luna mini 2!
If you get any face tool at all, make it this one! I purchased this as part of my post-Christmas sales haul last year and I’ve loved it!
I also have a review of this Foreo device which outlines all the reasons as to why it’s worth the money. It is also cheaper than when I bought it due to the release of the Foreo Luna 3.
Personally, I think the Foreo mini 2 works perfectly and makes my skin feel so clean. It really helps my cleanser clean out my skin so I always use it after wearing makeup for a day!
Dior hypnotic poison
This may be the beauty find of 2020 that I’m most excited about!
It was another that I bought in my post-Christmas sales and I was really hesitant about it! I was wanting to find a signature scent and I’d heard very mixed reviews on this one.
I was very close to getting Britney Spears fantasy but it didn’t last on my skin very well. This on the other hand, lasted so long and smelt amazing!
I managed to get a full sized bottle of the perfume and lotion for £45! The regular full sized bottle of perfume cost more than that alone!
It’s a very sweet gourmand scent, with vanilla being the star of it all. If you’ve read my post on my favourite body products, you’ll know I love sickly sweet scents. This is perfect.

Cloud 9 hair styling tools
This was an impulsive lockdown buy but I don’t think it was a waste of money.
Cloud 9 are hair styling tools that have special technology which reduces the amount of damage to your hair.
I have a review on the cloud 9 tools I purchased (straightener, hair dryer and curler). The straighteners were on sale and came as a bundle with the hair dryer and the curling wand was purchased separate.
In my opinion, these work better than GHDs and always make my hair feel so healthy and soft! The hair dryer is the fastest I’ve ever had and comes with 2 nozzles.
The curlers I’ve only used a handful of times but they work very well.
The straighteners are the best for me though! They heat up so quickly and it takes so time at all to run through my hair with them in the morning.
Also, my hair stays straight all day! Usually with GHDs, my hair starts to get wavy by midday but cloud 9s keep my hair straight for days!
If you’re looking for some new hair tools, these are the ones to invest in!
I’ve discovered some absolute amazing beauty bits this year and I can’t wait for more next year!
