We are FLYING through 2021! How is it already March?
I was genuinely struggling to think of a theme for March but I do like this theme and it’s a good one to get you in the mood for spring. I actually took the idea from my post of 80 bullet journal themes!
I’m hoping in March to get back into blogging properly as I’ve not been as invested due to the demand of second year university!
I know for sure I’ll be getting back into it over summer, as well as (hopefully) enjoying the end of lockdown!
So, let me show you my March bullet journal of 2021!
Cover page
As you can see, I went with the theme of lavender for my March bullet journal!
I’m not the best at drawing so it’s not as pretty as it could be, but I really like it.
It’s hard to tell by the photo but I used a few shades of purple in the lavender and I think it’s really elevated it.
I’m really happy with my lettering too. For the past few months I’ve laid off it and I’m surprised at how well it turned out.
The dots on the page are also really effective and fill in some of the white space I would have had otherwise.
Overall, I’m pleased with this theme and I’m glad that I decided to go ahead with it!
Monthly log
Very simple and probably my least favourite spread of this month.
I think I most regret the circles around the letters as it stands out too much. At the time, I thought the blue would blend in nicely but it’s too vibrant.
On the other hand, I do like the circle around the goals beneath it. Unlike last month, I missed out the deadlines/events part on this spread. It’s simply because I don’t use it!
Goals however, I do use as having them written down, holds me more accountable. If you don’t write your goals down, then I highly recommend you do as it really helps you stick to them!
Mood tracker
My mood tracker is quite cute this month! I really like how the key takes up a lot of the upper half of the page. It removes a lot of white space that would have been there.
I also added a few other lavender plants to the page as it looked a bit plain without them there.
One of my favourite features is the grass. The brush pens make it really easy to draw and look effective.
The title is very simple but that was deliberate as I really wanted the attention on the key which is unlike my past keys on my mood trackers!
Habit tracker
I was going to do the boxes again for my habit tracker but last minute I went with this one. It’s just quicker and easier while still looking effective.
There aren’t any drawings on this page but I made sure it still fit the theme with the title and the purple dots around it.
This title style is one of my favourites as it’s so simple but also looks so pretty! I use it all the time in my university notes and it really livens them up.
Most of my habits are the same as last time but this time I’m adding steps to it. I’m pretty good at hitting 10,000 steps every day and I think it’d be interesting to add them all up.
Unfortunately, I didn’t read as much as I’d like last month, hence it’s reappearance this month!
Weekly log
I really like this weekly spread. It’s simple but looks really pretty!
As I’ve said in previous bullet journal posts, most of my weekly spreads looks similar but are all a little different.
I usually show my favourite of the spreads and this month it happens to be this one. They don’t all have the little doodles too, some has a little notes section to fill with whatever seems necessary.
Personally, I’ve found simpler weekly spreads help more me as my tasks are a lot clearer this way.
In terms of designing my theme each month, I love doing the more artistic ones but in terms of productivity, the minimalistic ones are better for me.
Of course, different things work for different people so find out what works for you!
Gratitude log
This is probably my least favourite bullet journal spread for this month.
In all honesty, it was rushed but you can also tell by the outcome. The only thing that redeems this page is the little splash marks on each side of the title.
Despite the poor appearance of this page, I’ll still be using it as I feel it’s important to show gratitude every day and I like to fill this page in.
In future months, I’ll definitely put more effort into this spread as it’s dragged the rest of the other pages a bit in my opinion.
It’s a shame to end on a negative note but I’ll make sure it’s much more positive next time!
